Nigerian Students Return Peter Obi’s Forgotten Phone

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has praised students of Dominican University, Ibadan, for their honesty after they returned his phone which he forgot during a visit to the school.

Obi shared the story on his official X (Twitter) page on Monday, saying the incident gave him renewed hope for Nigeria’s future.

According to him, the students’ action shows that Dominican University is not only focused on academics but also on building good character.

Obi explained that he travelled from Lagos to Ibadan early in the morning to interact with the students and encourage them to excel in both learning and personal conduct. After the engagement, he donated ₦30 million to support the development of the university.

He said forgetting his phone and having it returned by the students was a simple act, but one that clearly showed the importance of combining education with moral values.
Obi added that if Nigeria gives equal attention to learning and integrity, the country can achieve greatness.
