Mustapha Kwankwaso Resigns as Kano Commissioner

Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of former Kano State Governor and NNPP national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned from his position as Kano State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.

In a statement released on Monday, Mustapha described his decision to step down as being made with a heavy heart. He expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the people of Kano State and for the trust placed in him during his tenure.

Mustapha said his time in office provided valuable experience in youth engagement and sports development and urged that attention and support for the youth sector continue even after his exit. He also prayed for blessings on Kano State and its leadership, wishing the government and citizens continued progress.

Observers note that his resignation comes amid ongoing political realignments in Kano State, following Governor Yusuf’s recent reported moves to align more closely with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
