The Oyo State Government has dismissed recent remarks credited to the former First Lady of the state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, describing them as misleading and disconnected from the current realities in the state.
Reacting to the viral video allegedly linked to the former First Lady, government sources and supporters of Governor Seyi Makinde said the present administration is focused on addressing hunger, improving livelihoods, and easing economic hardship faced by residents—challenges they claim were worsened during the previous administration.
They noted that Governor Makinde’s policies in agriculture, workers’ welfare, infrastructure, and social intervention programmes are already yielding results, with deliberate efforts aimed at putting food on the tables of ordinary citizens.
According to the government, rather than engaging in rhetoric capable of heating up the polity, political actors should acknowledge the tangible steps being taken to stabilize the economy at the state level and protect vulnerable residents.
The administration reiterated its commitment to peace, inclusive governance, and people-oriented policies, urging all stakeholders to place the interest of Oyo State above partisan sentiments as the election season approaches.
