Kogi Government Deploys Surveillance Drones to Combat Insecurity


The Kogi State Government has deployed two high-capacity PH20 surveillance drones to boost security operations and strengthen intelligence gathering across the state.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo unveiled the advanced drones on Monday at the 12 Brigade Headquarters, Chari-Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja, as part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to combat insecurity and improve public safety.

Speaking at the event, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to adopting cutting-edge security technologies in line with global best practices, stressing that the drones would enhance real-time monitoring, intelligence sharing, and rapid response by security agencies.

He noted that the deployment of the surveillance equipment was aimed at supporting security operatives in tracking criminal activities, preventing attacks, and safeguarding lives and property across Kogi State.

The event was attended by top military and security officials, who commended the state government for prioritizing technology-driven approaches to security and pledged effective utilization of the new equipment to address emerging threats.
