Rabiu Kwankwaso Has Dismissed Speculation That He Is Ready To Abandon His Political Beliefs Following The Recent Defection Of Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, From The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The Former NNPP Presidential Candidate Made It Clear That His Loyalty Remains With His Long-Standing Political Ideology And The People Who Support The Kwankwasiyya Movement.
He Spoke Shortly After News Emerged That Governor Yusuf, Several Local Government Chairmen, Members Of The House Of Representatives, And Some Political Aides Had Left The Party.
Speaking To Supporters At His Residence In Kano On Friday, Kwankwaso Said His Political Journey Has Never Been Driven By Money Or Personal Ambition. He Described His Struggle As One Rooted In Service To Ordinary Nigerians And Resistance Against Political Compromise.
“I’m Not For Sale. Our Political Convictions Keep Me Grounded. If I Were In It For Personal Gain, I Would Have Taken The Easy Route And You Would Be Looking For Me Elsewhere, Not In This Place,” He Said.
Kwankwaso Explained That The Kwankwasiyya Movement Was Built On Shared Values And Discipline, Not On Financial Rewards Or Political Patronage.
According To Him, Loyalty Within The Movement Has Survived Because Members Believe In A Common Purpose.
“Our Shared Vision Is What Keeps Me Going. If I Were Motivated By Greed, I Would Have Taken The Money And Run, And You Would Not Be Here Showing Your Support,” He Added.
He Warned Supporters Not To Lose Focus Despite Recent Political Shifts In Kano. Kwankwaso Said The Movement Must Remain United And Prepared For Future Political Battles, Especially Ahead Of The 2027 General Elections.
“We Need People Like You Who Have Sacrificed And Stood By The Truth. You Should Not Relent, Because One Day, We Will Achieve Our Objectives,” He Stated.
The Former Governor Also Expressed Concern Over The Current Political Direction In Kano State. He Accused Unnamed Forces Of Working To Dismantle Structures Built Over The Years By The Kwankwasiyya Movement And Urged His Followers To Begin Early Mobilisation.
“Going By What Is Happening In Kano Today, We Need To Start Preparing Because There Are People Hell-Bent On Destroying What We Built Over Time,” He Said.
Kwankwaso Further Assured His Supporters That He Would Not Align With Any Group He Believes Is Exploiting The Masses. He Maintained That His Political Mission Remains Focused On Protecting The Interests Of Ordinary Citizens.
“My Mission Is To Always Fight For The Ordinary People. I Will Not Compromise With Those Who Exploit The Masses,” He Said.
