Earlier today, we stumbled on the news headline, “2027: CHIEF GBENGA ELEDUMA WITHDRAWS FROM HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES RACE, DECLARES SUPPORT FOR ADELEGBE” Hurriedly, we clicked and read the news, only to realize that it was the usual mischief of the Adelegbe Media Team, to confusingly mislead the people into assuming that he’s campaign is gaining support in Owo local government.
But before delving into the issues, there are a few assumptions that must be laid bare,
Firstly, has Chief Gbenga Eleduma (CGE) at any time declared his intent to run for the House of Reps? The answer is No
Secondly, has CGE met with the party hierarchy in Owo and Ose local governments to discuss his aspirations? No
Does CGE have the right to contest for a Rep’s position or any other position? YES.
Therefore, can a distinguished man, who at no time has declared his intent to vie for any position withdraw from a contest? Ko Possible, then, who is Adelegbe Fooling?
It’s on record that Chief Eleduma is a known and recognized figure in Owo Local Government who will beat Hon. Adelegbe in any contest.
What Hon. Gbenga Eleduma has done for the good people of Owo is glaring and deserves the commendation of all and sundry.
Notable among his achievements are the multi-million Naira empowerment program for Artisans across Owo Kingdom, solar-powered boreholes, streetlights in strategic areas in Owo, and others
We are not surprised that Hon. Adelegbe is in search of endorsement from value-driven personalities in Owo, this is what one is forced to do when competence and performance are at their lowest
Chief Eleduma is a good and quality son of Owo Kingdom who will not work against the interest of Owo Kingdom in any way.
Recall that Hon. Adelegbe visited Owo L.G elders forum, and it was recorded that he was scolded and seriously questioned on the abandonment of projects in Owo Kingdom. Some of these projects are as follows: The Hall of Fame at the Olowo Palace, Isuada, Iyere, Ipele, Owo Stadium, and others. The elders’ forum also frowns at his lack of community engagement. Still, Hon. Adelegbe and his media Team Jettisoned all the notable observations made by the Elders of the party by issuing a press statement of endorsement immediately after the meeting
Hon. Adelegbe has lost touch with the people because his MHR office has not been used to attract any federal presence to the constituency for 7 years. The good people of Owo/Ose have seen this as a display of incompetence.
Even when Hon. Gbenga Eleduma didn’t declare to run for the MHR election, Hon. Adelegbe is using his name to gain cheap recognition by faking an endorsement
