Dangote Rewards Cement Distributors with N15bn Gifts, Targets 90m Tonnes Production by 2030

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has rewarded top cement distributors with ₦15 billion worth of cash and gifts at the 2026 Dangote Cement Distributors’ Awards Night held in Lagos.

The event, themed “Partner for Growth,” took place at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, and celebrated distributors who performed exceptionally well across the country. Winners went home with cash prizes, containers of cement, luxury SUVs, and CNG-powered trucks.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dangote described distributors as the backbone of the company, praising their efforts in taking Dangote products to communities nationwide. He also restated the company’s Vision 2030, which aims to grow the Dangote Group into a $100 billion company.

Dangote revealed plans to expand cement production capacity to about 90 million tonnes by 2030, alongside major investments in refining, fertiliser, and petrochemical plants. He said the goal is not just profit, but building Africa’s capacity for growth and self-reliance.

Chairman of Dangote Cement Plc, Emmanuel Ikazoboh, announced that about ₦9 billion in cash was shared among distributors, with some receiving multiple rewards based on performance. He also disclosed plans for a new 6 million tonnes cement plant in Ogun State and expansion across other African countries.

The company also highlighted its move towards clean energy, noting that by 2027, all its trucks are expected to run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
