An Akwa Ibom-based architect, Victor Jackson, has taken legal action against a man identified as Armstrong Ekong for allegedly assaulting his wife, Blessing Udofia, in public.
Jackson disclosed the development on Facebook on Thursday, January 22, 2026, where he shared a video showing Ekong standing trial in court.
“This young man, Armstrong Ekong, assaulted my wife publicly. He is currently standing criminal charges vs the State. You can do everything and go free, but if you touch my wife, you have crossed the red line,” Jackson wrote.
Giving her own account, Blessing Udofia described the incident as deeply traumatic, revealing that the alleged assault left her with severe injuries and emotionally scarred her children and family.
“This guy physically and publicly assaulted me last year, causing a severe injury. I bled for days, leaving my children traumatized and my entire household fearful of losing me,” she said.
She added that the suspect allegedly believed he could escape consequences with a mere apology, despite what she described as a history of violence against women.
“Because he has a history of hitting the woman he lives with, he thinks he can raise his hands against any woman he encounters. But by the time we are done, he will learn to think twice before ever attempting to harm a woman again.”
The case has since sparked conversations online about accountability, domestic violence, and the need to protect women from public and private abuse.
