The Nigeria Police Force has arrested one of two brothers accused of killing their father in Adamawa State, according to a report by SaharaReporters.
The suspect, David ThankGod (25), was apprehended outside Adamawa in Jalingo, while his younger brother, Joshua ThankGod (23), is still on the run.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect.
The disturbing incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of January 3 in Numan, where the brothers allegedly strangled their father, Ogar ThankGod, a well-known businessman in the Gwe-da-Mallam area.
Police investigations revealed that the brothers had recently returned from Lagos after being called by their sister to help settle a long-standing family dispute, which had already been reported to the police before the tragedy.
The killing has thrown the Numan community into shock, with residents describing it as one of the most horrifying family tragedies in recent times. Authorities say investigations are ongoing and have vowed to ensure the second suspect is brought to justice.
