Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), supported by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Monday protested at the National Industrial Court in Abuja over unresolved labour issues.
The workers are currently on a total and indefinite strike, following what labour leaders described as continuous abuse of workers’ rights by the FCTA leadership.
The NLC openly backed the strike, insisting that workers’ demands have been ignored for too long.
During the protest, workers carried placards with strong messages such as:
🪧 “Wike must go!”
🪧 “Abuja no be Rivers”
🪧 “Pay promotion arrears”
🪧 “Enough is Enough”
🪧 “No working tools”
The workers are demanding payment of outstanding promotion arrears, provision of proper working tools, and better treatment of staff within the FCTA.
They insist the strike will continue until their demands are addressed.
