Join Me to Wake Our Senator in Ondo North

Yesterday 6th of December 2025, Hon. Unyime Idem, PhD, Member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State hosted top officials of the federal government led by Vice President Kashim Shettima in his Constituency where he presented cheque of N1million each to 1,000 small business owners, farmers and artisans, totalling a sum of N1billion to boost their trades. 

My basic understanding of economics is that, the more that money flows to service a local economy the better the lives of the people living within the locality tend to improve. Hence, whoever that can strategize and help to ensure a fairer income distribution in Nigeria will, to a large extent, alleviate poverty. 

Interestingly, do you know that while Hon. Unyime Idem is the Chairman House Committee on Public Procurement, our own Senator in Ondo North is the Chairman Senate Committee on Public Procurement? Suffice to say, if his counterpart in the House of Reps representing two local governments in Akwa Ibom, and with smaller allocation can support one thousand people with One Million Naira each, my Senator who’s representing six local governments in Ondo North should do at least a Two or Three Billion Naira empowerment. 

Anyone who cannot make relevant laws to ease our affairs, give us a national voice that is well respected and join hands to improve the livelihoods of our people should stop running for public offices. I am pained because the world is fast leaving us behind, as you may have read from my page how this same Reps Member in Akwa Ibom sponsored 100 young constituents for foreign training in China and India. I beseech you to follow his social media handles and you’ll also see that barely every month, a team of young people receive employment letters into different federal agencies facilitated by him while we have had only two to congratulate since our senator assumed office in Ondo North. 

Sincerely, I do not think we should repeat our mistake in 2027!
