Beyond the bounds of his usual legislative functions as a lawmaker, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, representing Ondo Central, in partnership with SMEDAN and the National Productivity Center (NPC), organized a Skill Acquisition Training and Empowerment program for three hundred (300) individuals from across the six (6) local governments of Ondo Central.
The intensive training in leather works and fashion design, Catering, Barbing , Make- Up, Modern Farming Techniques and other various Skills held at Anike Event Center, Ondo East, aimed to equip beneficiaries with valuable skills and enhance their economic prospects.
Recipients of the training expressed their gratitude to the senator for providing them with the opportunity to learn new skills, become self-reliant, and contribute to the economy of their various communities. They also received start-up grants to support their new ventures.
This initiative is part of Senator Adegbonmire's ongoing efforts to empower the youth and women of Ondo Central, having previously supported students with educational materials, sponsored over 1,000 UTME/JAMB forms, distributed fertilizers to farmers, and provided training in ICT and palm oil production, as well as creating job placements for unemployed youths.
As a legislator who believes so much in human capacity building, Senator Adegbonmire has initiated several empowerment and intervention programs in the past, demonstrating his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents.
The beneficiaries, who couldn't hide their appreciation, thanked the senator for the opportunity to be trained, which, according to them, will tremendously help improve their livelihoods.
