The Enugu State Ministry of Health has arrested a fake doctor, identified as Kenneth Mamah, and sealed an illegal medical facility, St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, located at Ada-Ulo, Obollo-Etiti, Udenu LGA.
According to a statement by the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Ugodu Avemaria, the operation was coordinated by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. George Ugwu, following credible intelligence and complaints from concerned residents.
Upon inspection, the enforcement team discovered that Mamah had been conducting surgical operations and other medical practices in an environment deemed grossly unhygienic and unfit for any medical procedure.
The ministry reiterated its commitment to safeguarding public health and warned that it will continue to clamp down on quack medical practitioners and unlicensed facilities across the state.
