Operatives of the Yobe State Police Command have arrêsted a 22-year-old suspect for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl from Maiduwa Village, Fika Local Government of the state.
It was gathered that the development was disclosed in a statement by the command’s Spokesman, Dungus Abdulkarim, on Saturday.
Dungus revealed that the suspect, whose name was not disclosed to the public, lured the vìctim to his farm under the pretence of offering assistance with a promise of reward, but instead took advantage of the situation and råped her.
He added that the suspected crìminal confessed to the crÃme during interr0gation.
Dungus said: “On September 13, 2025 at about 0700hrs, following a distress call from the guardian of an 11-year-old female survivor from Maiduwa Village, Fika LGA, operatives of the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters promptly apprehended one Ishiaku Bukar, 22 years, of the same address.
“Investigation is ongoing, while medical evaluation and treatment of the survivor have commenced.”
It was reported that the state Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report all suspicious persons who take advantage of activities to harass or abuse women and children.
