Ogun State Acquires Bombardier CRJ 900 for Gateway Air

The Ogun State Government has allegedly acquired a Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft to operate under its new airline label, Gateway Air.

The jet, which can seat up to 90 passengers in single, dual, or triple class configurations, marks a significant step in the state’s aviation plans.

A brand-new CRJ 900 is valued at about $40 million, while used models range between $10–15 million, depending on age and condition. Older, third-hand versions can cost between $3–8 million.

Interestingly, the jet parked beside the Gateway Air aircraft is also a CRJ 900. It also allegedly belongs to Ogun-born billionaire Kunle Soname, Chairman of ValueJet, who recently acquired it for his own aviation business.
