In a Plenary session held on Monday, 4th of August, 2025 presided over by House leader Rt Hon. Adedoyin Adeyefa, The Legislative Council rejects a bill aimed at establishing the Owo security Network, presented by Hon. Dapo Oladenusi.
The House sighted important reasons why the Bill can't be signed into law and instructed Hon. Dapo Aladenusi, Chairman House Committee on Security, to obtain approval from the Ondo State Attorney General prior to re-presenting the bill
Furthermore, the House mandated Hon. Dapo Aladenusi to suspend all activities connected or related to the Security Network including the ongoing security training at Technical School, Owo with immediate effect.
The house also emphasize that as Law-makers, their cure responsibility is to perform the oversight functions in the interest of the people across Owo Local Government Area.
The House also expressed gratitude to the Owo Local Government Chairman for his efforts in ensuring security of lives and properties in the Local Government and urged him to continue complementing existing security agencies' efforts in the Kingdom to ensure adequate security and strengthening strategic partnership among them
In the same vein, The House also approved A Bill seeking to establish a sanitary vanguard to promote hygienic sanitation, and ensure access to toilet in Every Household in Owo Local Government area and also ensure zero tolerance to open defecation across the length and breath of the Kingdom.
The Bill was sponsored by Hon. Fagbamila Stephen Kehinde, Councilor representing Uso-Emure Ward 11.
