The management of Gregory University, Uturu, has dismissed allegations of subjecting lecturers and staff to inhuman treatment and salary slashes, labeling the claims as false and orchestrated by “disgruntled lecturers.” The response comes in reaction to a recent online publication accusing the institution of exploitative policies.
In a statement issued by the university’s registrar, Vincent Maliki, Gregory University defended its salary structure, describing it as competitive and fair for a private institution. Maliki categorically denied claims of “exploitative and inhuman” treatment, emphasizing that academic activities, including the ongoing Rain Semester examinations, are proceeding smoothly without disruption.
“We will not be deterred by unfounded allegations,” Maliki stated, reaffirming the university’s commitment to its biometric policy and other regulations designed to uphold professionalism and accountability. He clarified that any salary adjustments were made in line with university policies and driven by operational necessities.
The university also dismissed accusations against its Servicom unit and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), suggesting that the negative reports may have been fueled by a group of individuals engaged in moonlighting activities. Gregory University reiterated its dedication to maintaining high standards and urged the public to disregard the misleading claims.
