Former Big Brother Naija housemate Sheggz has shared an emotional encounter with a vulcanizer, revealing that he sent the man ₦20,000 instead of the ₦2,000 he charged to pump his car tyre.
Speaking during a recent livestream, Sheggz reflected on the economic challenges facing Nigerians, saying he understood why many people had become frustrated with the situation in the country.
The reality TV star said he preferred not to dwell on political issues during his livestream but acknowledged that many Nigerians were struggling.
He said:
“Sometimes, Nigeria can be hard. Like everybody is angry. I don’t even want to be talking about the government on my stream. Things aren’t really working in the country. I can’t blame people for being angry.”
Sheggz went on to recount how he recently visited a vulcanizer to have his tyre pumped.
According to him, the service cost ₦2,000, but rather than transfer the exact amount, he decided to add an extra zero and send the man ₦20,000, which he said was equivalent to about £10.
He explained that the vulcanizer became emotional after receiving the payment and reportedly burst into tears.
Recounting the moment, Sheggz said:
“I pumped my tyre recently, and when I was pumping my tyre, I wanted to transfer to the vulcanizer, and it was ₦2,000 to pump my tyre. So, I’m thinking like, I didn’t want to transfer him ₦2,000, so I put one more zero and just sent him ₦20,000, which is £10.
“As he saw the alert on his phone, the guy burst into tears. A grown man that can give birth to me. I was just like, wow, country is really, really hard.”
Sheggz’s account has attracted attention online, with viewers reacting to the vulcanizer’s emotional response and the reality star’s gesture.
The encounter has also drawn attention to the financial difficulties many ordinary Nigerians face amid rising living costs and economic pressures.
