As part of activities to commemorate the birthday of the Member representing Akoko Northeast/Akoko Northwest Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ifeoluwa Ehindero, the Chief Press Secretary to the lawmaker, Ibukun-Oluwa James Akeju, today visited the Ondo State School for the Physically Impaired, Otun Ireti, Ikare Akoko, along Ogbagi Road, Ikare Akoko, Ondo State.
The visit was marked by the presentation of gifts to the students and an engaging interaction with the students and management of the school.
Speaking during the visit, the Chief Press Secretary, Ibukun-Oluwa James Akeju, said the gesture was inspired by the need to celebrate his principal’s birthday through an act of compassion, service and love for members of the community.
“A birthday is not only a time to celebrate life, but also an opportunity to reflect on the lives we can touch and the difference we can make in the lives of others. We chose to mark this special occasion by spending time with these wonderful students and sharing a little love with them. Their smiles and joy today are a beautiful reminder that meaningful impact is often found in simple acts of kindness.”
Akeju further expressed appreciation to the friends, colleagues and youth leaders who joined him on the visit and contributed to making the outreach possible.
He particularly acknowledged Comr. Saliu Wasiu Abiodun (Wesco), SLA to the Rt. Hon. Speaker, House of Representatives; members of ICM, Akoko Northeast; Comr. Ademoye, President, Akoko Northwest Youth Forum, and his team; Comr. Muhammed Olalekan Kazzem, SA on Youth Engagement and Mobilisation to Hon. One of the students, Adebayo Joy, expressed her appreciation for the visit, describing the experience as a memorable one.
“We are very happy that you came to celebrate with us. The gifts are appreciated, but we are even happier that you took your time to come and spend time with us. It makes us feel remembered and loved.”
Also speaking, one of the teachers, Mr. Dunsi, appreciated the visitors for remembering the students and for creating a moment of joy for them.
“We sincerely appreciate this kind gesture. Beyond the items presented, the presence of people who care enough to visit and interact with our students means a lot. It gives them a sense of belonging and encouragement.”
