A Nigerian woman has criticised some foreign-resident men for their alleged treatment of women who are reluctant to accept marriage proposals.
The woman lambasted guys who go so far as to visit a woman's village and pay her wedding price, only to have sex with her before going back overseas and requesting that her family refund the dowry in a video posted on X (previously Twitter).

“Why will you go as far as going to a girl’s village to pay her bride price, and after sl££ping with her, immediately you travel back, you send a message that they should go and take the dowry back?
‘Shebi you were playing hard to get. I had to go that far to get you and sleep with you.’ Do you see that you’re a wicked person?”
The woman emphasised that women should have time to decide whether they are making the proper choice before accepting a marriage proposal and asked how such a man would feel if the same thing occurred to his sister.
She went on to say that she was devastated to learn about the circumstance and asserted that the woman in question was emotionally shattered.
“A girl delaying to say yes to you does not mean she’s playing hard to get. She’s only trying to confirm that she’s not making a silly mistake.
“Please, abroad men, if you know that a girl is delaying to say yes and it is not okay with you, please move on. Don’t come and mess any girl’s life up. W!ck£dn&ss dey oo,” she added.
The woman advised men to move on instead of making major marital vows they don't plan to honour if they are unwilling to wait for a woman's decision.
