Even To Wear The Cap Of Mr President, He Is Avoiding It" Zangina Slams Senator Ali Modu Sheriff

Sani Ahmad Zangina has questioned whether Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is the right person to play a major role in President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 campaign in the North-East.

Zangina, who leads a group supporting Tinubu’s continued presidency, argued that campaign officials should clearly identify with the president and confidently promote his political message.

His criticism focused on something as simple as Tinubu’s trademark cap. Zangina suggested that Sheriff’s apparent reluctance to wear or publicly embrace the symbol raises questions about how strongly he identifies with the president’s campaign.

For Zangina, the issue goes beyond clothing. He believes campaign leaders must be able to demonstrate commitment if they are expected to persuade voters at the grassroots.

He nevertheless stressed that his criticism does not amount to withdrawing support for Tinubu. His group, he said, would continue working for the president’s re-election regardless of whether Sheriff remains in the campaign structure.

The remarks reveal the importance some Tinubu supporters attach to loyalty and public identification as APC prepares for 2027.
