CDCFIB Oral Interview: Expect Different Questions

One important thing every CDCFIB interview candidate should understand is that you may not receive the same questions as the person interviewed before or after you.

So, don't prepare by memorising only one list of questions.

Instead, prepare around yourself, your education, the agency you applied to and your reason for applying.

Here are some areas you should prepare for:

🔹 1. Tell us about yourself
Be ready to give a brief introduction covering your name, educational background, relevant skills or experience, and other important information about yourself.

🔹 2. Your secondary school experience
You may be asked about your secondary school, what you studied, your experience there or something you learned during that period.

🔹 3. Your university/college experience
Candidates with higher education may be asked about their course of study, institution, academic experience or what they gained from their education.

🔹 4. Why did you choose this agency?
This is an important one. Know why you applied and be able to explain your interest clearly.

🔹 5. What do you know about the agency?
Study the agency's basic functions, responsibilities and role. Don't go into the interview without knowing the organisation you want to join.

🔹 6. Questions about your strengths
You may be asked what you consider to be your strengths. Choose genuine qualities that can relate to the position.

🔹 7. Questions about your weaknesses
Answer honestly and professionally. If you mention a weakness, explain how you are working to improve it.

🔹 8. General questions
The panel may also ask simple questions designed to test your confidence, communication, awareness and ability to think clearly.

🎯 THE KEY IS PREPARATION, NOT MEMORISATION.

Don't be scared if another candidate tells you, “They asked me this question.” Their questions may be completely different from yours.

Listen carefully, understand the question, think briefly and answer confidently.

💬 QUESTION: If the panel asks you, “Why do you want to join the agency you applied to?” — can you answer confidently in 30 seconds?
