Pastor Tobi Adegboyega has explained why he deliberately exposed female members of SPAC Nation to luxury lifestyles, saying the strategy was designed to prevent young women from being easily influenced by wealthy men.
In a video circulating online, Adegboyega, the founder of SPAC Nation, said church members were intentionally taken to expensive hotels, restaurants and other high-end locations so they could experience such environments for themselves.
According to him, the initiative was particularly targeted at young women, whom he wanted to develop strong principles and avoid idolising celebrities solely because of their wealth.
‘We exposed them to nice places’
Adegboyega explained that members were taken to places associated with a very high standard of living so that wealth would not become something they could only associate with powerful or famous men.
“What I did with SPAC Nation members is that we exposed them to nice places, nice cars and hotels. So a girl child will not be carried away with all of these things. You will not idolise a rapper or a footballer and lose your principles because your leader already took you there.
SPAC Nation goes to where 0.001% have access to. I’ll make a female member talk to the chairman of Rosewood Hotel, so that if you do something, it’s because you want to do it, not that a guy made you feel like you will never experience this without him,” he said.
‘The girl child has confidence’
Adegboyega said the church also deliberately organised services, lunches and feeding programmes in luxury locations, including Rosewood and Dorchester.
He said the goal was to give female members confidence and help them understand that they could aspire to such lifestyles independently rather than becoming dependent on wealthy men.
“We did churches, lunch, the feeding programmes in expensive places on purpose. So now again, the girl child has confidence. She’s not going to be following a big man around,” he added.
His comments have sparked attention online, particularly over his unconventional approach to exposing young women to luxury as a way of shaping their attitudes toward wealth, relationships and success.
