A student of the Isaac Balami school in Shaffa, Borno State, has narrated how aviation expert and philanthropist, Comrade Isaac Balami, picked him up and restored his hope after B$ko H$ram ki&ld his father.
The student, who is among the children receiving free education through Balami’s initiative, said the philanthropist’s act of kindness gave him the opportunity to return to school and pursue his dreams.
In a new video, the boy became emotional and was pushed to tears as he recalled the moment his father was killed by B$ko H$ram in Shaffa. He paused briefly as he struggled to contain his emotions before being consoled.
While wishing Balami a happy birthday, the student thanked the aviator for the support he had provided to him and other children, saying it had given them an opportunity to build a better life.
Reacting to the video, Balami described it as his best birthday gift and one of his most touching moments.
In a post on his X handle, @balamiisaac, he wrote:
“This moment marks my most heartfelt 25th birthday gift. Watching this video brought tears to my eyes.
“Over the past 15 years, I have dedicated myself to providing free education to more than 300 children in my village of Shaffa, among other locations in Nigeria, Borno State.
“Today, I feel a deep sense of fulfilment, knowing that my efforts and those of my team are making a real difference. The greatest wealth one can build is the ability to uplift others.
“I want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported my vision to elevate others. Your support not only inspires me but also strengthens the most vulnerable members of our society.
“We pray for God’s favour to empower even more lives during my lifetime. With faith in God, all things are possible,” he wrote.
