African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled an education policy promising free education from primary to tertiary level and pledged to abolish WAEC and NECO examination fees if elected president.
Presenting his plans for the 2027 general election, Sowore said no Nigerian child should be denied access to education because of financial constraints. He argued that the government should fully fund public education, including the cost of national examinations such as the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO).
Sowore also pledged to improve funding for public schools, upgrade educational infrastructure, enhance teachers' welfare, and expand access to quality education across the country. According to him, investing in education is essential to reducing poverty, unemployment, and insecurity.
The activist-turned-politician said education should be treated as a fundamental right rather than a privilege, insisting that every Nigerian child deserves equal access to learning regardless of their background.
