A woman identified as Mrs. Kadiri Ajarat has been accused of allegedly ambushing and brutally attacking her neighbour, Mrs. Faith, following a dispute over a Point of Sale (POS) transaction in Otokutu, Delta State.
According to the victim's husband, the two women, who operate neighbouring shops on Agore Street opposite Otokutu Town Hall, had a heated argument on Thursday afternoon over a POS transaction. The disagreement was reportedly resolved after traders and neighbours intervened.
However, he alleged that after the close of business, Mrs. Kadiri lay in wait for Mrs. Faith along a quiet road in the Ikoror area at about 9:40 p.m.
She allegedly attacked the victim with a blade and a knife, repeatedly slashing her face and severing one of her ears before fleeing the scene.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, where doctors are reportedly battling to save her life.
As of the time of this report, the suspect is said to have fled and remains at large.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident, while investigations are expected to determine the full circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.
