The Osun State Muslim Community (OSMC) has commended the state governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for his pro-people policies.
The president of OSMC, Mustafa Olawuyi, gave the commendation on Sunday during the governor’s visit to the OSMC secretariat in Osogbo.
Speaking during the occasion, Governor Adeleke told the Muslim community that his records of achievements for the Islamic sector surpass his predecessors’ records.
The governor said his accomplishments for the community cannot be rivalled by his predecessors, which he said is groundbreaking.
“I am happy to report that my administration is almost completing the hajj camp,” Adeleke said.
“Just recently, Osun became the first state in the South West to formalize the issuance of Islamic marriage certificates. It is now operational, and I have also directed that the processes for the issuance should henceforth be domiciled with the Muslim community as the umbrella body for Muslims in Osun State.
“You all know my principal officers and many members of my cabinet are Muslims. I ensure Muslims get their fair share in almost all areas. I listed all the above to show what I did that they refused to do when they were in office,” the governor added.
Olawuyi commended Adeleke for the infrastructural development, particularly road projects, and also for his decision to build a mosque inside the Osun State Government House in Osogbo.

Olawuyi praised the Osun State government for the smooth Hajj operations by the Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Olawuyi president also commended the proactiveness of Adeleke through his executive order on the Ikirun Obaship tussle, which prevented bloodshed in Ikirun.
“We thank Governor Adeleke for implementing several policies and projects to meet the needs and aspirations of Muslims in Osun State. We know he will do more when he is re-elected on August 15th,” Raji said.
