The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has blacklisted Onifam Laboratories Limited, its Managing Director, all directors, and every affiliated individual or entity found to have participated in regulatory violations.
According to a statement issued by the agency's Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, the decision followed extensive investigations which uncovered regulatory misrepresentation, misuse of NAFDAC approvals and certificates, improper registration and transfer of pharmaceutical products, and other activities that bypassed established regulatory procedures.
NAFDAC said these actions undermine product traceability, weaken accountability, and pose serious risks to public health. As a result, those affected have been barred from participating, directly or indirectly, in any pharmaceutical business regulated by the agency. This includes applying for registrations, licences, permits, certificates, or approvals, as well as acting as manufacturers, importers, distributors, marketing authorisation holders, consultants, agents, promoters, or sponsors of NAFDAC regulated products.
The agency stated that the blacklist takes immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice. It also warned that additional regulatory, administrative, and legal actions could be taken where necessary.
NAFDAC reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Nigerians from substandard and falsified medicines, urging all stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector to comply strictly with existing laws and regulatory standards.
