A 33-year-old married Zambian accountant, identified as Edward Mwanamuchele, is standing trial over the d£ath of his 25-year-old girlfriend, Rhoda Munkombwe, after allegedly att@cking her with an iron bar.
According to reports presented before the Chipata High Court, the incident occurred after the accused reportedly discovered explicit messages on the victim's phone, including conversations with other men that allegedly triggered a violent confrontation.
During his testimony, Mwanamuchele admitted striking Munkombwe after reading the messages, one of which allegedly stated, "I have missed your manh00d," followed by a response referring to a "German machine." Prosecutors allege that the discovery of the conversations enraged the accused, leading to the fatal a$$ault. The court is expected to examine the full circumstances surrounding the incident as the murder trial continues.
The case has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many expressing sadness over the tragic loss of life and stressing that no disagreement or suspected infidelity can justify violence.
