The Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP), under the Adopt A School for Snacks 4 Thought – PBAT FEEDS! initiative, was officially launched today in Coker–Aguda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), with pupils receiving nutritious breakfast snack packs aimed at improving child nutrition and enhancing learning outcomes.
The programme, held at L.A. Nursery and Primary School, Orile, marked Coker–Aguda's participation in the statewide rollout of the initiative being implemented by the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) in partnership with the Lagos State Government and Conference57.
6The Executive Chairman of Coker–Aguda LCDA, Hon. Ogidan Azeez, who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Saddam Oye, reaffirmed the Council's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote child welfare, quality education, and human capital development. In his address, delivered by the SLG, the Chairman commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for prioritising investments in the well-being of Nigerian children through the Renewed Hope Agenda, while assuring stakeholders of the Council's full support towards the successful implementation of the programme.
The Council Manager, Mrs. Ogunbo-Alimi Modupeola, presented an overview of the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, highlighting its objectives of improving school attendance, enhancing classroom concentration, supporting better learning outcomes, and strengthening child nutrition. She also noted that the programme represents a strategic investment in the nation's future through the development of its young population.
Although L.A. Nursery and Primary School, Orile, had been designated as the beneficiary school for the pilot exercise within Coker–Aguda LCDA, pupils from the neighbouring Central Primary School were also accommodated, ensuring that more children benefited from the distribution of the nutritious snack packs.
The event attracted the Supervisor for Education, Mrs. Sholape Ajaguna, members of the Council Management Team, including the Head of Department, Education and Library Services, school administrators, teachers, programme coordinators, and other stakeholders committed to advancing child nutrition and educational development.
Coker–Aguda LCDA reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Federal and Lagos State Governments, development partners, and other stakeholders to implement programmes that improve the welfare, health, and educational outcomes of children across the Council.
