“If I had N200k, I wouldn’t be in church” – Lady tackles pastors over altar donations linked to miracles

A Nigerian woman has lambasted her pastor after narrating an event at a church service, @ccusing certain clergy of using altar calls to compel people to donate money.

Speaking in a viral video published on X (previously Twitter), the lady claimed that some pastors start by asking members to bring big amounts of money to the altar, then progressively reduce the amount until more people react.

Read what she said below;

“You will go to some churches and hear the pastor say, ‘I need just seven people that can run to the altar with their ₦200k. If you have ₦200k, just run to the altar with it. God has something for you.’ So, God now does limited miracles?”

She questioned why somebody with such a large sum of money was still expected to reply to the call, saying that the practice makes no sense to her.

The lady claimed that if just a few people react, the sum is typically dropped from ₦200,000 to ₦100,000, ₦50,000, ₦20,000, ₦10,000, or any amount people can afford.

“If they see the people that came out for ₦200k are not much, they will lower it. Then it becomes ₦100k, ₦50k, ₦20k, ₦10k and finally, ‘Come with anything you have because God says this miracle must reach everybody.’ You be th!ef,” she added.
