According to a video shared on Bishop David Abioye's YouTube channel on Sunday, July 12, 2026, the cleric has spoken against the practice of paying missionaries and pastors very low salaries. He maintained that anyone serving in ministry deserves fair compensation and should receive at least Nigeria's approved national minimum wage.
Speaking during a church message, the Presiding Bishop of Conquerors Global Assembly stressed that people who dedicate their lives to the work of God should not be subjected to poor living conditions because of inadequate pay. He explained that ministers and missionaries contribute significantly to the growth of the church and should be treated with dignity and respect.
His comments come at a time when reports indicate that some resident pastors and missionaries receive monthly salaries below ₦20,000, an amount many consider insufficient to meet basic living expenses. Bishop Abioye, who previously served as the Vice President of Living Faith Church Worldwide before founding Conquerors Global Assembly, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of improving the welfare of workers in both religious and public institutions.
