GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip – Hamas has announced the dissolution of its "Emergency Committee," the administrative body responsible for governing the Gaza Strip, in what analysts describe as a symbolic move toward transferring civilian administration to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG).
In a statement, the Hamas-led administration said civil servants across Gaza would continue performing their duties without interruption, emphasizing that they remain public employees prepared to serve under the authority of the proposed technocratic National Committee.
The group added that all necessary administrative arrangements for the transition had been completed.
Despite the announcement, observers say the decision is largely symbolic and is unlikely to produce immediate changes in governance or administrative control within the territory.
Analysts believe the move is intended to demonstrate Hamas' willingness to relinquish day-to-day administrative authority to the National Committee as part of a broader political framework aimed at shaping Gaza's post-conflict governance.
The development is also viewed as aligning with a reported 20-point Gaza framework proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, which envisions a technocratic body assuming responsibility for civilian administration in the enclave.
The announcement comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to establish a post-war governance structure for Gaza, with regional and international stakeholders continuing discussions on security, reconstruction and political transition.
