The Friends of BOD, some days ago launched an emergency intervention to rescue the dilapidated Lujomu Community Grammar School in Ayeyemi, Ondo. The action followed a distress call from the leadership of the Ayeyemi United Youth Movement, who highlighted the deplorable state of the school infrastructure.
Upon conducting an assessment visit, group members discovered a heartbreaking scene. Students were sitting for their critical NECO examinations inside an examination hall with a severely damaged, leaking roof, leaving them exposed to unsafe and unfavorable learning conditions.
In response, the Friends of BOD launched a general public appeal to mobilize resources. The funds realized were immediately used to purchase high-quality roofing sheets, which have now been delivered directly to the school authorities and the Ayeyemi community youth leadership.
Elated by the prompt intervention, the youth leaders showered the group with encomiums, expressing profound joy that dignity is finally being restored to the government school.
While acknowledging that this intervention is a vital first step, the Friends of BOD, inspired by the community-centered vision of Bolaji Omotayo Daramola, urged other well-meaning citizens and organizations to support the complete rehabilitation of the institution.
