Social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested by federal law enforcement officials in Miami, with the U.S. Marshals Service confirming the arrests were made on Saturday, July 18.
The agency said the warrant remains sealed and declined to disclose specific charges. However, British authorities confirmed the arrests are linked to additional cr!m!nal charges filed against the brothers in the United Kingdom, where they are awaiting extradition.
According to the U.K.'s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Andrew Tate, 39, now faces seven additional counts of √@pe, three counts of arranging or facilitating tr@fficking for $£xual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 additional charges relating to illegal child images and p0rn0graphy.
Tristan Tate, 38, faces one count of $£xual a$$ault, two counts of √@pe, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for $£xual exploitation.
The CPS said the new allegations relate to incidents said to have occurred between July 2010 and August 2017 and involve four additional alleged victims, bringing the total number of alleged victims across the cases to seven.
Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said the new charges followed the receipt of fresh evidence from Bedfordshire Police.
Before the latest charges, Tristan Tate had already been facing three counts of √@pe, six counts of actual bodily harm and two counts of human trafficking, while Andrew Tate had previously been charged with three counts of √@pe, four counts of actual bodily harm, two counts of human tr@fficking and one count of controlling prostitution for gain.
The brothers are expected to face extradition proceedings to the United Kingdom as the legal process continues.
