The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that only graduates with a compliance certificate from the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) will be eligible for mobilisation going forward.
NYSC Director-General, Olakunle Nafiu, disclosed this during the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Pre-Mobilisation Workshop held in Abuja.
According to the NYSC, the new measure is part of efforts to curb certificate fraud, strengthen accountability, and improve the integrity of the mobilisation process nationwide.
The workshop, themed:
🗣️ “Strengthening Institutional Accountability and Compliance in the NYSC Mobilisation Process for Effective Service Delivery,”
brought together major stakeholders in Nigeria’s education and mobilisation sectors.
The development signals a tougher verification process for graduates seeking participation in the mandatory national service scheme.
