Veteran TV host, Frank Edoho, has revealed that during his first two years hosting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, he earned just over ₦100,000 monthly despite appearing wealthy and successful on screen.
Speaking at a seminar, Edoho said:
“I had to wear a suit as if I owned all the money.”
According to him, things changed after MTN Nigeria came on board as sponsor, prompting him to boldly negotiate a better deal — a move that eventually transformed his career and finances.
He also encouraged people to stay focused despite life’s struggles, saying success often comes from persistence, confidence, and keeping your eyes on the prize.
Many Nigerians have since reacted online, noting that ₦100,000 in the mid-2000s had far greater value than it does today due to inflation and naira devaluation, while others praised his confidence and negotiation mindset.
