A heartbreaking story has emerged from Abuja, where a businessman and his 19-year-old daughter were reportedly killed by kidnappers despite the family paying a total ransom of N12 million.
The abductors initially took the family members into the bush and demanded the ransom in three installments: N6 million, N4 million, and N2 million. Tragically, the daughter, Fatima, was allegedly killed three months earlier during the negotiation process.
To meet the ransom demands, the family had to sell the businessman’s shop, car, and a sachet water production machine. The kidnappers even pressured them to sell the house, but there was no buyer.
This devastating incident highlights the ongoing security challenges and risks faced by families in kidnapping-prone areas.
🕊️ Prayers for the family and calls for urgent action against banditry.
