Businesswoman Tracy Nither Ohiri, who has been at the center of a high-profile dispute with Nigeria's Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has been hospitalized following a sudden collapse.
The incident was reported in a live update on his official Facebook page on Friday, February 27, 2026 by activist Omoyele Sowore, who shared details and images from the scene at a medical facility.
Sowore posted that Ohiri "has been hospitalized following a collapse," accompanied by a photograph showing individuals, including a man in a green and white outfit and another in traditional attire, standing outside what appears to be the entrance of a hospital ward.
The hospitalization comes amid escalating tensions surrounding Ohiri's long-standing claims against the minister. She has publicly accused Umahi of owing her a substantial sum originally ₦25.1 million for supplied building materials and political campaign items over 12 years ago which she says has grown to ₦304 million with interest.
Ohiri has also alleged that the non-payment stemmed from her rejection of unwanted advances.
In one reported statement during earlier court proceedings, Ohiri declared: “I can never be broken. You must pay me my money. I will press your neck.
The matter took a dramatic turn when Ohiri was arrested in Lagos on allegations of cyberbullying related to her social media posts demanding repayment.
She was subsequently transported to Abuja and detained by the FCT Police Command.
Activist Omoyele Sowore intervened, confronting Umahi at the police facility and criticizing the handling of what he described as a civil debt dispute turned crîminal.
