Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter dated February 4, 2026, and sent to his ward chairman in Logo Local Government Area, Suswam said he could no longer remain in the party because of ongoing internal problems.
He explained that the PDP has been facing continuous crises and has failed to resolve them over the years.
Although Suswam did not mention the party he plans to join next, reports say he is part of a group of opposition leaders now working with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of future elections.
In his words, he said it was right for him to step aside and wish the PDP well, hoping the party will one day find peace and unity.
