Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Tambuwal, has denied claims that there was ever an agreement for Nyesom Wike to be his vice-presidential running mate in 2019.
Tambuwal made this known while speaking on Arise TV on Monday night. He said clearly that when he contested for the PDP presidential ticket in 2019, there was no deal or agreement with Wike to become his vice president.
According to him, although Wike supported his ambition at the time, the FCT Minister never asked to be his running mate and did not place any condition on his support.
Tambuwal added that Wike backed him because he believed in his capacity and leadership ability, not for personal gain or political bargaining.
He stressed that the claims making the rounds are false and that fairness demands the truth be told.
