NIGERIA: Pastor Friday Utti Omemero, the senior pastor of Prayer Answer Deliverance Ministry (also known as Testimony Center) in the Afiesere community of Ughelli, Delta State, has been accvsed of engaging in extramarital affairs with multiple women, including one who later passed away recently.
According to Tony, the husband of the deceased woman, a former vigilante chairman, the couple had a minor disagreement, after which she left the house.
Around the same time, he was hospitalized due to illness. Upon his recovery, after their reconciliation, he discovered that the pastor had sent money to his wife.
When Tony confronted the pastor about this, the pastor claimed the money was intended for his (pastor's children's clothing), as Tony's wife planned to visit a specific market.
Tony then directly accvsed the pastor of sleeping with his wife, which the pastor denied. The pastor promised to visit Tony to discuss the matter but never did.
The situation escalated when the wife suddenly fell ill with a mysterious ailment, which the community attributed to a deity's curse, which affects a married woman who has extramarital affairs,
In her confessions during this illness, she admitted to having sexval relations with the pastor and several other men known to her husband.
She subsequently passed away, and her body was placed in a morgue. The following Sunday, while the pastor was conducting a service, community youths stormed the church, forcing him to flee. In the ensuing chaos, they demolished the church building.
Tony further alleged that the pastor had previously sl3pt with the wife of their community chief priest, who also died afterward, and with another woman in the same hotel where he had lodged his late wife for two days.
