Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), is facing a fresh investigation following the discovery of arms and ammunition at his country home in Kebbi State.
According to a Monday report by The Nation, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) uncovered the weapons during a search of the residence.
However, the anti-graft agency reportedly transferred the recovered arms to the Department of State Services (DSS) for a comprehensive investigation, citing its lack of constitutional authority to probe illegal possession of firearms.
While the exact number of arms and ammunition could not be independently verified, sources disclosed that the cache was substantial enough to warrant a full-scale DSS investigation.
The development adds a new dimension to Malami’s growing legal and political troubles, as Nigerians await official clarification from security agencies.
