Former Bayelsa State Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Henry Seriake Dickson, has denied reports claiming he has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement released on Friday through his media assistant, Ajiri Daniels, the Senator said he remains fully loyal to the PDP and has not joined any other political party.
Senator Dickson explained that he is currently mourning the death of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Dr. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. Because of this, he has stepped back from political activities as a sign of respect and has been receiving visits from friends, political leaders, and supporters from across the country.
He noted that visitors include leaders from different political parties and people from all walks of life.
The Senator said he is closely observing political developments and added that after the burial, he will consult with his friends and political associates nationwide before taking any decision, which he will announce officially.
For now, he stressed that he remains a key member of the PDP and hopes the party will act wisely, considering its long history and role in Nigeria’s democracy.
He urged the public and PDP supporters to ignore the reports, describing them as fake news, and advised everyone to rely only on information from his official channels.
