A former Rivers State Commissioner, Austin Tam-George, says Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s move to the APC has changed the political balance in Rivers State.
He explained that the governor’s defection has reduced the control and influence once held by the camp loyal to the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking on Arise TV, Tam-George said recent political moves in the state appear to have unsettled Wike and his supporters. He added that this may be why Wike has been visiting different local government areas in recent weeks.
According to him, the Wike camp no longer has the same level of influence over the Rivers State government and is now struggling to regain relevance.
However, Tam-George warned that the ongoing political tension and power struggle could harm the state and its people if it continues.
