AFCON 2025: Ndidi Steps In to Save Super Eagles Ahead of Algeria Game

Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi, has promised to personally pay the team’s unpaid bonuses if the authorities fail to do so before their big match against Algeria.

The Nigeria government has delayed payment, and this caused tension in the camp. Some players even considered skipping training and travel plans.

Speaking ahead of the AFCON 2025 quarter-final clash on Saturday, Ndidi urged his teammates to stay focused and not allow money issues to affect their performance.

He said he has been encouraging the team to train and prepare since their second match of the tournament. To calm everyone down, Ndidi told both players and coaches that he would pay the bonuses himself if the money does not arrive on time.

The Super Eagles have now travelled to Marrakech and are fully preparing for the crucial match against Algeria.

Ndidi said the team’s main goal is to stay united and give Nigerians something to celebrate.
