Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has written his name in Nigeria’s football history at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Lookman reached the milestone after scoring in Nigeria’s big win against Mozambique on Monday. With that goal, he now has six goals for Nigeria at the AFCON tournament.
The Atalanta star scored three goals at the last AFCON held in CĂ´te d’Ivoire and has added another three goals in the ongoing competition in Morocco.
His achievement puts him level with former Super Eagles stars Segun Odegbami and Julius Aghahowa, who also scored six AFCON goals each.
Legendary striker Rashidi Yekini remains Nigeria’s highest scorer in AFCON history with 13 goals, while Austin Okocha is second with seven goals.
Nigerians have continued to praise Lookman for his strong performances and commitment to the national team.
