AFCON 2025: Eto’o Vows Cameroon Will Bounce Back After Morocco Defeat


Cameroon football legend and FA president, Samuel Eto’o, has reacted after the Indomitable Lions were knocked out of the AFCON tournament by host nation Morocco.

The quarter-final match was played on Friday in Rabat, where Morocco defeated Cameroon 2–0. Goals from Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari sealed the victory for the Atlas Lions.

Eto’o watched the match live at the stadium and later addressed the Cameroon players and coaches in the dressing room. He gave an emotional speech, praising the team for their effort despite the loss.

The former Barcelona and Chelsea star said he was proud of the players and promised that Cameroon would return stronger.

According to Eto’o, the defeat is only a step towards future success. He told the team to start preparing immediately, saying Cameroon will “take revenge” and aim to win the next AFCON tournament.

He encouraged the players to keep their heads up, reminding them that they fought with pride and represented their country well.
