12 Dead in Multiple‑Vehicle Crash on Abuja Road

At least 12 people have died and several others injured in a tragic multiple‑vehicle accident along the Yangoji–Abaji corridor of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The crash occurred around 11:45 a.m. at Gada Biyu, prompting an immediate emergency response from rescue teams.

Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) rushed to the scene to assist victims and clear the wreckage. The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been released, but the incident has been described as “tragic and unfortunate.”

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, considering factors such as vehicle speed, driver attentiveness, and road conditions. Road safety remains a critical concern in Nigeria, particularly along busy highways linking major towns and cities.

The FRSC has called on motorists to exercise extreme caution, adhere to speed limits, and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before embarking on any journey.
