US President Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on major media outlets, accusing them of publishing “seditious, perhaps even treasonous” reports about his health. The outburst followed multiple stories — including one by The New York Times — questioning whether the 79-year-old president is slowing down.
In a nearly 500-word late-night screed posted on Truth Social, Trump lashed out at suggestions that age is affecting his performance:
“There has never been a President who has worked as hard as I! My hours are the longest, and my results are among the best.”
He went further, alleging that the critical reports amount to an attack on the presidency itself:
“I actually believe it’s seditious, perhaps even treasonous, for The New York Times, and others, to consistently do FAKE reports in order to libel and demean ‘THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.’”
Trump said he had undergone “long, thorough, and very boring” medical exams and claimed to have “aced” cognitive tests, insisting that his mental sharpness remains unmatched. He also called for the New York Times to cease publication, branding it “a horrible, biased, and untruthful source.”
The tirade comes despite Trump’s frequent criticism of the media for allegedly ignoring the health issues of his predecessor, Joe Biden, who exited the 2024 race following a widely criticized debate performance.
The clash marks yet another explosive chapter in the ongoing feud between Trump and the press — with tensions rising ahead of the next election cycle.
